I found this place a couple years ago and I just tried it. The baked potato was bomb. The meat had a lot of fat pieces to it though so I kept picking it out my mouth. Ehhh. May or may not go back and try something else.

First night in HOU Needed somethin to eat after we landed around 8:30 PM and saw the place had good reviews. I was not at alll expecting this friendly and welcoming of a place. The outside can be a bit... intimidating especially because of its location but after entering I felt much better Ordered the Mamalona? I believe. I asked the waitress what the best thing was and she picked this for me. It was a burger with a beef patty, sort of chopped sausage ham lettuce cheese. One of the most interesting burgers I've ever had, and it was great! Came with fries and I ordered a lemonade on the side. It was loud, music wa bumping and the servers always came to check in on us. Overall, very solid spot to eat if you're up for it. It can be intimidating like I said, but don't be afraid, the food and hospitality is great. 3.9/5

An offbeat establishment on the side of the freeway with the best tasting food I've had in awhile. The service was awesome and the ambience is casual. They used to have live music but it's been discontinued for a little bit. You can bring your own beer but they do serve micheladas. The mixture they use is tasty. Great drink variety but a little on the high side with costly refills. We had the agua de piña which was good. Today was our first time visiting this establishment and we ordered the chile tacos. Wow! These are so delicious. The jalapeno is filled with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon, deep fried and awesome on two corn mini tortillas. We also ordered an order of nopales (Cactus) OMG, these were the best tasting nopales I've ever had at a reasonable price and the taste was amazing. Made with onions, tomatoes and seasoning so tasty. It comes with freshly made tostadas. I also ordered the Mamona burger but couldn't even try it there because I ate the other stuff but later in the evening I ate half of it. It is huge and well worth the money paid. It comes in a pink bun. A little odd but the taste is off the charts. I would recommend everything we ate and can't wait to try other great menu items. They have a great variety for every taste. I recommend coming at least once, you'll be hooked.

Don't let the exterior of this place fool you! And don't go off the sign at the door that flips over to CLOSED lol I made sure it was open before driving off!! And we didn't regret it!! The portions are big and the flavor is on point!! I ordered la chorreada burger!! Look up the word lol yup it was like that exactly!! So much cheesy flavor!! I added grilled onions and omg it made it even better!!! My husband ordered the milanesa burger and it was huge!!! He enjoyed it and said it was delishhh!! My daughter got 2 orders of trompo tacos!! She said it reminded her of Tijuana Mexico and that is a plus!! I also got a michelada, very good!! Refreshing The place inside has a great ambiance, sad we were leaving when the band was just setting up, next time!! We pod for all that about $80, it's a little pricey but it was worth it! The service is great too!! And the place looks really cool once you get inside!!

A great hole in the wall Burger joint! The menu is so expansive I had to read it twice before deciding. Krinkle fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! My burger was perfectly cooked with cheese oozing out of the sides! This place is going into my workweek rotation for lunch!

I'm glad this little gem popped up on my Facebook. I'm from San Antonio and do not live in Houston. How it showed up on my Facebook idk but I'm glad it did!! My husband has been working in Houston and I saw a video on their burgers so I tagged my husband, well I was in Houston for Thanksgiving holidays and we decided to try them out, OMG I wanted to order sooo many things, but ended up getting there beef torta, fries and charro beans. My husband got the burger with the fried egg SOOOOO GOOOD!!!! The torta was that I didn't care how messy it was, and I sure did scoop up everything that had fallen out. The beans were good. I did add a little more spice, but they were still good. The fries are fries, nothing fancy, but I still ate them! My husband's burger was fresh and huge! Everything came out fresh and hot. I will definitely go back so I can try their hotdogs

They have A LOT of options to choose from at Las Mamalonas! My cousin has asked me to try these burgers for a looooong time. The burger doesn't look quite like the pictures they advertise on the menu but they are good and I would definitely eat here frequently. The service is quick and good! The place looks like a hang out spot and it has a very H-town vibe to it.
